Grief Out Loud

This four-part series on grief will explore what grief is; how it shows up in our lives; the different types of grief; when it becomes more than grief; how to manage and cope with grief; and where to find resources.

Grief is a natural response to loss, and that loss can come in many forms, including:

  • Divorce or relationship breakup
  • Downgrade in health
  • Loss of a job, and/or financial stability
  • Miscarriage
  • Death of a pet
  • Letting go of a dream you realize you'll never attain
  • Serious illness (yours or a loved one's)
  • Loss of safety after a trauma

Even events that have positive association can also have an element of grief, like:

  • Graduation
  • Retirement
  • Selling the family home

It’s more important than ever to take care of yourself during this difficult time, as the stress of a major loss can quickly deplete your energy and emotional reserves. Look after your physical and emotional needs, and register today.
